The Health Policy Collaborative study is led by VCU co-principal investigators Dr. Andrew Barnes of the Department of Healthcare Policy & Research and Dr. Laura Razzolini of the Department of Economics. It is the collaboration of 5 university departments including Healthcare Policy & Research, Economics, Marketing, Health Administration and Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science.

The study’s sample comes from uninsured patients who utilize the VCU Health System but do not qualify for the Virginia Coordinated Care program. The study’s survey is administered in a group setting and facilitated by trained research personnel. Participants are compensated for their time when they attend one of the group sessions.
